Makerere University Student Perishes in a Road Accident

Sombre mood has engulfed Makerere University as one student dies after being involved in a road accident this morning.

Makerere University’s 87th Guild President Shamim Nambassa has confirmed the development.

Writing on her official Facebook page, Nambassa has identified the deceased as Namuwaya Vanessa pursuing a Bachelor of Construction Management.

Nambassa says the accident involved two students and the other one identified as Davis is in critical condition.

“It’s a very sorrowful morning for us as Makerere University as it dawned on us that two of our students were involved in a fatal accident at about 5:40am along Garden City round about.”

“One known as Namuwaya Vanessa pursuing Construction Management in year three and a resident of Africa hall has passed on and the other Davis, is in a critical condition,” Nambasa says.

According to the Guild President, the accident happened as they were on their way going for practicals of survey field on traffic control.
