Gracious Gello, 22, was yesterday arrested and detained at Wandegeya Police station for selling cookies and buns that were mixed with marijuana. The second year Biotechnology student at the biggest public university in Uganda, Makerere University, seemed to be applying what he has so far learnt.
The Kampala Police Metropolitan Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango yesterday said that Gello used to mix the buns with marijuana and sell them to the unsuspecting students. “He was caught after he sold the buns to a few students who wanted to get high and disrupt normal business at campus,” Onyango added.
Consumption of Marijuana is illegal in Uganda. The student, according to his coursemates, is one hell of an innovative chap. “We believe he was trying something very unique…he always likes to think out of the box,” one his course mates told Campusbee.
