The Makerere University Seventh-Day Adventists fraternity in partnership with Amazing Facts has organized a seven-day Health Expo that has made Makerere university students wear smiley faces.
The expo, which commenced on February 20th, 2022 at Lumumba Gardens is offering a wide range of free health services to the university fraternity such as blood typing, malaria test, dental checkup, counseling, body measurement, and body massage.
Makerere students have embraced the Health Expo in large numbers -clearly creating a mark that their health comes first.
Upon arrival at the expo, one’s body measurements are taken and then a seven-step guide is followed for each process. However, most students (especially the male), have their eyes glued on the second last process and can’t keep their eyes off the massage bench.
One of the students at the expo told the Bee that he is so happy about the expo for he has been granted an opportunity to know his health status. Besides, he expressed his excitement about the massage.
“The expo has helped me know my health status. Naye ka massage ko, eh! Olemwa! (In vernacular).” He said.
The Health Expo will run till 27th February 2022 starting at 5 pm and ending at 7:30 pm each day with a worship session at each day’s peak.
The SDA church leadership says it has partnered with Amazing facts to enable students know their health status as this (health) comes first and also use the same avenue to spread the word of God.
Amazing Facts (the organizers of the expo) is a seventh-day Adventist evangelic non-profit ministry that has spread all over the globe.
