The 87th Makerere University Students Leadership has through its Ministry of Health, initiated a Covid-19 survey across the entire university.
The rationale of this survey is threefold. Firstly, the survey seeks to have accurate or near-accurate statistics of the number of students at the university, that are vaccinated. Secondly, the survey seeks to establish those who have not been vaccinated and why this is so and thirdly, whether some adjustments can and should be made to incentivize these students to get vaccinated.
This initiative comes after the Makerere Guild Leadership had expressed their disgruntlement about the continued online learning and proposed a full return to the physical interface. It is hoped that these statistics will go a long way in shaping the conversation around the full reopening of the University.
