Makerere University Guild has organized a walk in a show of solidarity with Kenya’s Garissa University students. The walk dubbed “National Garissa Solidarity March” will start from the Freedom Square at 9:00am.

Last week, al-shabab militants attacked the college killing 148 students and leaving many injured. This is so far the deadliest attack on Kenya by the militants. The extremist group claims retaliation towards Kenya’s participation in the peace keeping mission in Somalia-a base for the militants. Kenya yesterday hit back at the group with airstrikes on 2 al shabab bases in Somalia.
