Makerere University Vice-Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe has been recognized as the African Educationalist of the Year 2021 by the African Leadership Magazine. The excited Nawangwe took to his social platforms to celebrate this milestone, explaining that it gave him more energy to serve.
“I am humbled by the recognition of my efforts by the African Leadership Magazine. This gives me more energy to serve my continent better.” Nawangwe tweeted on Monday night.

Besides leading the oldest and biggest public university in Uganda, Nawangwe has also shown excellent leadership skills at international conferences. Nangwe has also led negotiations between Makerere and other international universities that later signed MoUs with the Ivory Tower.
