Following the closure of Lumumba hall for renovation, Lumumbists have been left homeless and advised to seek refuge in other Halls of residence.
The closure has posed a huge threat on the Lumbox solidarity as the bloc seems to be tearing apart.
Mary Stuart residents are now ‘up for grabs’ since their Lumumba counterparts will have a new address.
Northcote has however seen an opportunity in this dilemma.
In a letter shared with this publication, Northcote council of elders claim that Mary Stuart wrote to them in pursuit of a new solidarity.
“We are glad to inform everyone that we received a request by Marystuart ladies to form the Northcote-Marystuart solidarity,” the letter reads in part.
The council of elders has thus called for suggestions ahead of the baptism of the new solidarity.
This comes a day after lumumba hall was closed by Makerere University administration for renovation purposes.

With this new solidarity, it means that Northcote hall residents will not be bachelors anymore.
We are yet to see if this marriage will usher in an amendment in their anthem to erase the ‘I am a bachelor’ part.
Makerere University will renovate its halls of residence, and this development has started with Lumumba hall.
