Students in all National Tertiary Institutions that hail from Tooro region are set to hold their national elections scheduled for December 4, 2022 at Kyambogo University under Tooro Tertiary institutions Students Association (TTISA).
TTISA is an umbrella body that unites students from Tooro region.
Like no other elections, this one has attracted Tooro student leaders heavyweights among whom is the Chief Executive Officer of Blessed Tooro foundation popularly known as Emperor Kairumba Micheal Atwooki.
He is to compete for TTISA presidency seat alongside other two contenders, Smart Ivan from Metropolitan International University and Patrick Aliguma of Kampala International University.
Kairumba, a second year student of Makerere University pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy majoring in international law unleashed his 11-point manifesto on Friday last week.
The strong-willed leaders flabbergasted top politicians in Tooro region for his initiative to revamp the image and invest in the publicity of the association (TTISA).
It will also be used to shape future leaders in the region who are to work closely with the kingdom under his Royal Majesty Dr. Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV and revive the image and the strength of Tooro in Uganda and East Africa.
He also intends to use his expertise as the former Head Prefect of St Leo’s College Kyegobe and later on the president of the umbrella body that unites all prefectorates in Uganda, to enhance unity in the Association that was torn apart by the natural rivalry between Kyambogo and Makerere varsities.
He has embarked on this matter by launching the now famous Emperor Kairumba support fund 2022-2023 which has promoted unity between Makerere and Kyambogo students, a chance he’s likely to exploit and win the presidency seat since there’s no any other coalition that can win the Kyu-Muk alliance, the majority.
