On Saturday 22nd October 2022, the Uganda Law Students Association held it’s general elections at Victoria university.
The event which comprised of voting and swearing in of new leaders took place in the University’s court room.
Mr. Moses Okwalinga, the newly elected vice chairperson of LASPNET Board presided over the entire election process and gave closing remarks.
Various universities with law schools or faculties across the country attended and participated in the event of electing new leaders.
Benard Oundo, the current President of the Uganda Law Students Association graced this honorable event as the chief guest.
The entire process of choosing new leaders began on Monday 17th October 2022 with the announcement of vacant posts.
Only presidents of the different law schools in different universities offering Law courses were eligible candidates for the posts available.
In addition, those presidents were the only ones allowed to vote for the contestants.
Mpindi Percy Christopher from Makerere University won the election as the president elect Uganda Law Students Association defeating Katakenga Philip.
The event was concluded with a handover ceremony as the new leaders received the tools of power.
The Uganda Law Students Association is an umbrella that unites all the fourteen law faculties across the country with the main purpose of jointly solving problems and challenges faced and find ways on how to better achieve their goals and objectives.
