Makerere University’s justice and constitutional affairs minister Hon. Aggrey Bazirake has earned himself a dismissal from cabinet over failure to ‘execute core responsibilities’ assigned to him by the Guild president.
The Minister was dismissed through a notice of justification issued to the Guild speaker on Friday, May 16th 2025.
“I hereby notify you of the dismissal of Hon. Aggrey Bazirake from the ministry of justice and constitutional affairs. This decision is based on his failure to execute core responsibilities assigned to him as per Articles 22(16) and 38(3) of the Guild constitution.
According to the notice, the minister is expected to hand over guild assets and funds accrued during his time in office to the Guild prime minister.
The dismissal comes only two month after the appointment of the Minister on April 1st, 2025.
