Makerere University students from the College of Education and External Studies were equipped with practical skills to enable them attain national prosperity as future educators.
The skilling happened at a workshop organised by the college on Friday, March 14th, 2025 at Yusuf Lule Central teaching facility. The expo was organised under the theme: Empowering future educators through skills and innovation for national prosperity.
Speaking at the workshop, Prof. Robert Wamala, who represented VC Prof. Nawangwe said the expo aligns perfectly with the university’s vision of producing graduates who are knowledgeable.
“The expo aligns perfectly with our vision of producing graduates who are not only knowledgeable but also speak for purpose in the ever evolving job market,” Prof. Wamala said, adding that, “The skills expo serves as a bridge between academia, industry and other key stakeholders”.

Dr. Muhammad Kiggundu, said the expo is testimony that Makerere University is ready to equip new curriculum based students with skills and competences for future national prosperity.
“This expo is a big testimony that Makerere University is ready to have our students in this new curriculum that is looking for skills and competence,” he said.
