Makerere University is set to mark the climax of its #MakerereAt100 celebrations.
The year-long commemoration will be marked this week on Thursday October 6, 2022 with alumni and dignitaries from both the local and the international scene in attendance.
In light to the celebrations, the fountain of all honour in the country, H.E Yoweri Museveni has been confirmed as the guest of honour.
“H.E President @KagutaMuseveni will officiate as the Chief Guest at @Makerere’s Grand Centenary Celebrations this Thursday,” Government Citizen Interaction Centre affirmed.
It is imperative to note that this event being of such nature, attendance will be by invite only, with the rest joining in virtually (through televisions and social media).
The MakerereAt100 celebrations will mark a century of countless achievements that the university is associated with.
Opening its doors to only 14 students in 1922, Makerere University has grown to become one of the most prestigious Universities in Africa and the World over.
This celebration marks a century of excellent services, and offers a chance to look beyond, and see how to “Leverage the 100 Years of Excellence in Building a Transformed Society”, as the theme suggests.
