Makerere University through its 86th Guild has organized an innovation webinar slated to take place on Saturday 7th August following a 6-day Innovation Exposition series Hash-tagged #MakInnovationExposition, in which students unveiled their projects, challenges experienced and how they overcame those challenges throughout their pursuit.
Under the theme “Strengthening innovative minds amongst students in preparation for post covid” the virtual event will run from 2PM to around 4 PM, Saturday.
Key note speakers to expect:
To be hosted by Mr. Gilbert Muhumuza (86th ICT Minister at MAK) , this webinar will be graced by notable personalities across the technology industry including Dr Elioda Tumwesigye – Uganda’s Former Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Patrick Bitature – Chairman Simba Group of Companies.
Other key speakers to be at this webinar include; Mr James Bwambale – Head of Network Planning and Engineering at MTN Sudan, Dr Annabella Habinka – Researcher/Lecturer/Board Member NITA Uganda, Mr CK Japeth – co founder innovation village, among other speakers.
Attendees of the webinar will get to understand how innovations can be transformed into the business community amidst a pandemic.
Other topics to be discussed include: how politics impacts innovations in the pandemic, the impact of minimal participation of ladies in innovations and how to get them involved, among others.
