Makerere University electoral commission has nominated 16 guild presidential contestants ahead of the 88th guild elections.
The sixteen will battle for Makerere University’s top students’ seat in the forthcoming guild elections.
According to the electoral roadmap, the contestants will have their first joint rally on Thursday July 7th, 2022.
From the nominated candidates, only four have been endorsed by political parties and these are; Blessious Namirembe (DP), Hussein Ibra (NRM), Isaiah Mpiirwomugisha (ANT) and Justus Tukamushaba (FDC).
The National Unity Platform and other remaining political chapters are yet to endorse sole candidates to represent them in the 88th guild race.
Makerere University students will elect their 88th guild president on Friday 15th July 2022.
The 88th guild president will unseat NUP’S Shamim Nambassa from the guild presidential office.
