Makerere National Unity Platform (NUP) chapter has extended the deadline for expression of interest in the party flag by intending guild aspirants.
The party has extended the deadline that was initially Wednesday June 22nd, 2022 to Saturday June 25th, 2022.
According to the party’s general secretary, the extension is due to challenges being faced by aspirants in accessing their academic results and lack of reliable information from the electoral commission.
The party chapter also alleges that NRM is determined to frustrate the party’s proceedings.
Makerere NUP chapter has recently been faced with internal wrangles with a number of executive members resigning for what they termed as unfair and undemocratic party processes.
The chapter hasn’t yet disclosed when it will elect its flag bearer for the forthcoming 88th guild race.
