There is hope for freshers who have desperately been waiting to join campus and non teaching staff who have been demanding their pay as some resolutions were made at state house yesterday as the University Council and the Non Teaching staff met with President Museveni.
At the moment, the non teaching staff have been instructed to gather today where they’ll hold a general assembly giving them a detailed communication satisfactory enough for them to call off the strike. The Senate building will also be open today where normal academic business of issuing out admissions forms and receiving freshers will resume.
Freshers and continuing students have been instructed to report on Saturday and lectures will begin as early as Monday. After 3 weeks, serious lectures and course works will commence. Students will have to adjust with time to cover up the time wasted.
The long preserved Bazaar and orientation cultures were not left out either, Mitchellex Bazaar is to be lit up on Saturday which is also the same day as orientation.
Re-elections for the embattled guild presidents at the schools of Education are scheduled for 4th week.
If this goes according to plan, then MAK is sorted.
