From showcasing at big fashion expos to styling international acts, Oscar Kampala continues to make major business breakthroughs every day. The latest coming in confirms that the Makerere University Bachelor of Statistics student has headlined this month’s (July) issue of Dash Magazine and he gives the credit to Makererians.
Oscar, an entrepreneur who also doubles as the CEO of Oscar Kampala House of Suits was featured in the magazine to inspire young African souls. Dash Magazine is an African fashion-life style magazine for an affluent special audience whose lives are a reflection of beauty and wealth.

The humble Oscar discussed a number of issues ranging from the future of fashion, running a multi-million business, how he creates suits from scratch, among others. He also talked about how he saved up to 4.8 million in high school before joining the fashion business.
“I do not deal in ready to wear suits so I do not import suits. Bespoke suits are custom made suits from scratch to fit the desire of a customer. I import fabric and I am a tailor. I go down to basics of tailoring and let my imagination run wild. I also do support our local fabric markets in Uganda’’ Oscar told the Magazine.
In a phone call with Campus Bee, Oscar confessed that he would not have made it this far if it wasn’t for the Makerere University community. He has disclosed that joining Makerere is the best thing that has happened to him, adding that 60% of his clients are Makererians.
“I’m really grateful for the support offered by Makererians. They have supported me a lot since 60% of my clientele are my fellow students,” Oscar confessed.
When answering the question of what’s lacking in Uganda’s fashion industry, Oscar revealed that the country is not doing bad fashion-wise but there is need for government support.
“Well, the industry is not badly off. We just don’t have support from the government in comparison to other countries E.g. Abryanz personally funds the Asfas Awards himself being Africa biggest red carpet event and we lack the market. We have creative designers but just lack the platform and the market to show their work.” He said.
Despite the COVID-19 lockdown, Oscar Kampala can deliver classy suits for both men and women or you can check out his shop located in Ham Shopping Grounds, Nakivubo Block C Level 3, shop No C109.
