The students of the Christian owned university UCU, Mukono, are in a dilemma after hearing rather odd news that the rich Arab dons at the English premier league club, Man City are set to buy off their university.
Sheikh Mansour, who owns the Abu Dhabi United Group (an investment company) which owns Man City is said to be in talks with Church of Uganda to take over 80% shares of the university.
UCU which has failed to clear some debts, had to give into a bid from the Abu Dhabi moguls or else lose the entire university. The university chancellor Ssenyonyi was seen fuming from his office into his car because his ‘christian-based’ university will be owned by muslims who won’t care about Christian morals.
He was also overheard saying that sextapes might be on the increase because these moguls only care about the money and not strict policies. The Sheikh has set strict terms for the buyout such as the removal of unnecessary religious leaders from university administration.
Management will be puzzled with questions such as whether to rebrand Uganda Christian University to a more religious name or choose another name that fits in the old acronym of UCU.
Today the management will hold a meeting where every staff member will be asked to stop dreaming and realise that today is Fool’s day.
