Makerere University has officially released the Mature Age Admission list for applicants admitted under the Private Sponsorship Scheme for the 2024/25 academic year. The list, announced by the Office of the Academic Registrar, includes successful candidates who applied through the Mature Age Entry scheme, one of the alternative routes for admission into Uganda’s most prestigious institution of higher learning.
The admissions process, which allows individuals who may not have had the opportunity to join university through the traditional route to pursue higher education, was highly competitive this year. Applicants were subjected to a rigorous entry examination process, testing their aptitude and readiness for academic challenges.
The Mature Age Entry Scheme is open to candidates who are at least 25 years old and have passed the university’s entrance exams. This pathway has become increasingly popular, especially for working professionals and individuals seeking to enhance their academic qualifications later in life.
