Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has opend up a urology clinic to treat urinary track systems.
The urology clinic will be open every Friday and is estimated to support at least 70 operations with 50 patients being reviewed per clinic day.
Commissioned on Thursday March 17th, 2022 at Mbarara University, the urology clinic will serve the MUST fraternity and neighbouring community.
Dr Celestine Baeigye, the Mbarara hospital director thanked the University management for starting up such an initiative and hopes that the clinic will grow into an even bigger training institute.
“Thank you for starting. I am proud of the small steps you have taken. I dream of you becoming bigger from a unit to a training institute.” Dr Barigye said at the commissioning ceremony.
Professor Mutakowa, who was branded as the pioneer of the urology department was recognised for the great initiative started.
Mbarara University of Science and Technology’s urology clinic is the first urology clinic of its kind in any higer institution of learning in Uganda.
