Have you ever heard of a feast party where every thing is free? When I say free I mean entrance, free food, shirts , music and of course having a great time at absolutely no cost. Well if you haven’t heard about it , this artivle is for you.
Blankets and Pilao is an annual feast party that a few campus students get attend and have a great meal at no expenses. It involves eating muchomo, rice chicken, name it. Plus drinks and good music for the rest of the day and evening. Question is , who is behind this free feast?
Ashiraf Mayanja commonly known as ASHM is a third year student at MUBS with an overwhelming ambition that is equal to his big heart. The 22 year old is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business computing.
After going to multiple schools in his high school, he has many friends from Gombe SS, Lubiri SS, East high among others. He managed to socialise with everyone in each school he went to and these are the friends he has never regretted making.
In order to bring his numerous friends together for a re union, he thought of a gathering to bring everyone together. But that was not going to be possible if he didn’t have enough money. Ashm has done almost every job that exists to get money. He is an ICT consultant. He also got involved in painting, grass mowing, served as a School van driver and also as a boda driver.
He says that he feels happy to work and spend on his friends and he does not need payment because he believes that Allah will pay him. He started this feast in his vacation. Last year, he had close to 100 people who showed up. This year’s edition will be “nkoko ku nkoko” and it will take place on August 31st in his home compound in Seeta mukono behind Ridar hotel ,opposite tiamo gardens. The good news is , everyone is invited.
