University education is not as easy as it looks on graduation day. The zeal one joins the university with is usually not the same zeal they leave with. As the years go by, students gradually grow tired of the routine and subsequently decline, or in extreme cases – drop out. When one completes their course therefore, they deserve the smiles and jubilations.
In the Architecture class of 2019 that had only 18 (eighteen) students graduating this year, just 3 (three) were girls. Judith Alowo, Damalie Khainza, and Charlotte Nyangoma beat all odds to finish the five year program in the extend of that gender difference in numbers.
Consequently therefore, the three shall go down in the history books of the institution as the only female graduands with a Bachelor of Architecture during the 69th Graduation Ceremony that was summed up today (Friday 18th January, 2019).
The three dedicated their lives to God and their books and it’s evident that they got the result.
One of them is a self confessed remnant and prays regularly at flamboyant Prophet Elvis Mbonye’s conventions.
Hard work, commitment and dedication have been the summary of their story at the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT).
