From leading strikes to representing Ugandan students as the vice president at the East African students Union, Makerere university’s retired strike leader Roy Rugumayo Kusemerera seems to be stuck with being at the frontline.
Roy Rugamayo Kusemerera, who is looking forward to ousting NRM’s Ruhunda Alex of Fortportal from parliament come 2026, is already strengthening his political ground.
The vice president of East African Students Union led a delegation of students yesterday to the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of East African affairs; Honourable Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga.
“We deliberated extensively about the role of young people in fostering an integration agenda. It was easy for us to agree that there is no better catalyst for unity than in a platform that brings together over 70 million in the East African community.” Roy Rugumayo wrote in a Facebook post.
Roy Rugumayo was elected vice president as well as head of Ugandan delegation to East African Students Union in September this year.
The East African Students Union brings together the six nation students organisations from the six partners of the East African Community.
