Ndejje University fraternity is still in shock after two of the students passed on within a period of just one week.
Just a few days after the death of Lillian Lyaka shocked the university, another student by the name of Diana Kaitesi passed away yesterday.
Kaitesi was a third year students of Arts in Early Childhood and education at Kampala campus while Lyaka was offering Bachelor of social work & social administration (Swasa) on weekend programme and also from Kampala campus.
Death snatched Kaitesi while she was undergoing an operation in the morning hours of yesterday and her burial is scheduled to take place this week. Lyaka was a year-one student who breathed her last on Monday this week and was buried in Lugazi at their ancestral home.
The dean of students, Mr Wilfred Muhumuza Kato described the death as saddening, a great loss to the university and sympathetic one as condolences messages flooded university social media pages.
“Death has struck us again, robbing us of two students. Our sincere sympathies go out to the families, friends, classmates, lecturers and the entire Ndejje University community. May their souls rest in peace,” he posted on the university’s Facebook page.
Most of the friends of the deceased described them as hardworking and very friendly students whom they always shared with one or two things in common.
As Campus Bee, we extend our deepest condolences to Kaitesi and Lyaka’s families and the entire Ndejje University community.
May the souls of the deceased all rest in Eternal peace. Amen.
