This year’s Miss Tourism Uganda was launched last Friday at Explorers Hub in Kololo with media people representing different media houses.
The launch also had representatives from Ministry of Tourism, sponsors and Miss Tourism Queens representing different regions together with the outgoing Queen Sydney Nabulya, the reigning Miss Tourism 2022/23.
Every year, the Miss Tourism Uganda organizers choose a theme with this year’s being; “Greening Tourism”, and the search is already on.
The 12 regions include West Nile, Busoga, Buganda, Lira, Ankole, Kasese, Mbale and Western region among others.
Speaking at the launch, Ayisha Naguddi, the interim CEO of Miss Tourism Uganda said that the pageant is on and every young girl can come and try their luck, they could be the next Miss Tourism Uganda.
“To take part in Miss Tourism Uganda contest, they have to be single, no children and educated,” Naguddi said.
She went on and said that the different queens have contributed too much to the growth of Uganda’s tourism through their different projects in different regions.
Enid Mirembe, renowned for her tourism event called the Rolex Festival is a former beauty queen that represented Miss Tourism Busoga.
This year’s Grande finale will take place at Kampala Serena Hotel on September 9th and will see one of the regional winners crowned Miss Tourism Uganda 2023/24.
