Following the release of Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) earlier this month, senior six leavers hope to join institutions of higher learning to get their careers on the road.
At times, the performance at the UACE stage may not meet the expectations of a number of these campus-hopefuls, particularly for those who miss out on two principle passes. Not to worry ISBAT University has the right package tailored to pave way to the higher education stage.
Kicking off on 12th April 2023, ISBAT University’s Higher Education Certificate (HEC) features programmes in Business & IT, Physical Sciences and Health Sciences which serve as requisite to proceed to degree level progression without having to re-sit senior six level.
For an affordable fee of UGX 1,400,000 for Uganda nationals and USD 400 for international students, the HEC puts students at an advantage of upgrading to Bachelor’s degree programmes at no further charge.
At ISBAT, students who enroll for the HEC get 75% reimbursement of their fees paid in Semester Two, which is carried forward to the first semester of the Bachelor’s Degree level programme that they choose.
Once enrolled for this programme, senior six leavers have the opportunity to specialize in fields based on their career goals.
International students from non-English speaking countries stand the opportunity to get additional training in the English language.

Eligibility:
Higher Education Certificate in Business & IT
- Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education(UACE) or its equivalent with a Subsidiary Passes in any of the core subjects
- Technical/Vocational Qualifications in Business or, Information Technology or related disciplines that are considered equivalent to the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (A-level).
- Students whose foreign secondary school qualifications are not considered equivalent to the Ugandan A-level (Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education) but permit admission into Higher Education in their respective home countries. Such students shall be required to have an equivalent of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least five passes.
- Students of Cambridge curriculum, upon completion of AS Level with 2 Advanced Subsidiary passes.
Higher Education Certificate in Physical Science
- Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education or its equivalent with a Subsidiary Passes in any of the core science subjects mathematics, physics or chemistry obtained in the same sitting.
- Technical/Vocational Qualifications in Business or, Information Technology or related disciplines that are considered equivalent to the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (A-level).
- Students whose foreign secondary school qualifications are not considered equivalent to the Ugandan A-level (Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education) but permit admission into Higher Education in their respective home countries.
