Two thieves whose names have not been identified since yesterday survived being lynched by an angry mob of students last night at Douglas Villa hostel in Kikoni. These two a teenager and another middle aged guy had stolen a smart phone of a one Grace a student and wanted to lure her into more of their theft acts only to be intercepted by Douglas Villa residents.
Here’s how it all happened
Grace had gone for Mass(prayers) at St.Augustine chapel at campus and she happened to loose her dear smartphone. With no hopes of ever finding it, she confided herself with her small MTN phone. In the evening, she received a call from a friend asking her why she wasn’t replying her WhatsApp messages. That’s when the friend told her of how he called on the phone and someone picked it claiming to be a phone tracker. So an appointment was given to Grace to come and meet the Phone Tracker together with the thief in Kikoni at around 10 pm.
On reaching, the self proclaimed Tracker started yapping of how he had been stalking this teenage thief and had been tracking Grace’s phone for months. A surprised Grace stood in astonishment looking at how this gentle man in his late 30’s was claiming her was stolen long time ago yet it had just been stolen hours ago.
Tired of the whole yapping process, Grace started hurling insults at the so called Phone Tracker which attracted the attention of Douglas Villa residents and they swung into action. Giving these two con men their portion of mob justice. After swallowing countless slaps, Golola kicks and May weather punches, the juvenile thief narrated of how they had failed to unlock Grace’s Password so they decided to use it as a trick to get her and even apply more theft tactics on her.
Police later came and saved these two breeding creatures from the students for if they delayed, they would be dead meat by 11 pm.
During the beating session, the juvenile thief disclosed some clues of how they steal smart phone’s, laptops and many other valuables from students. So please stay alert for the little boys you see roaming around campus and hostels because they are not mere wanderers but professional thieves.
