Two sons of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kasese Municipality – Hon Ferigo Kambale have been jailed over their involvement with drugs (opium), reports indicate.
The two were arrested earlier this week and detained at Nateete Police Station.
Further reports indicate that the two sons dropped out of campus, where they had enrolled for studies. The MP tags the drop-out to their involvement with drugs.
However, in an interview with a native newspaper, Hon Kambale revealed that he didn’t send the sons to Police, instead admitted that they were arrested upon his green-light over the drug abuse issue.
“They need rehabilitation for them to regain their normal state” – he said in full acknowledgement and support of the imprisonment of his sons.
The two sons have been identified as Brian Kambale – a student who, before dropping out, was pursuing Bachelor of Accounting and Finance at Uganda Christian University, and Rico Bwambale – a student who was pursuing a diploma in finance at Makerere University Business School (MUBS)
Their father hopes that after the time of the intended rehabilitation behind bars, they will be fit for studies-resumption.
Upon the judgment of Nateete-Rubaga Court Grade 1 Magistrate – Adams Byarugaba, the MP’s sons now face a jail term of at least four months, a period which he deems fit for their reform.
