Students residing on campus, in Berlin Hall, MUBS, last night, at about 11pm, fled their hall of residence after a student notified them that she had received a call from an anonymous caller informing her that there was a bomb planted in their hall.
“She received a call from a stranger informing her that he cared about her so much and that she should leave Berlin Hall as soon as possible because he got information that a bomb was planted around her hall of residence. She rushed out informing all students who then fled the campus for safety. Some students went straight home whereas others spent the night at their friends’ hostels and rentals,” reports the workerbee.
The counter terrorism police was then notified and rounded the entire MUBS campus. They searched for the said bomb all in vain. The counter terrorism police believe that a student must have played around with his fellow students, in what they described as a ‘prank’.
Some students have this morning returned back to Berlin hall, whereas others are still in fear and have vowed to return only when it feels safe. “For now I will stay home, I won’t risk my life by going back to hall now. I will be commuting from home until everything gets back to normal,” said Prima Ayebare in our WhatsApp conversation.
