The Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Electoral Commission headed by Honorable Oketcho Peligrin has suspended all political movements of the MUBS Guild aspirants soliciting for votes.
In a letter addressed to all MUBS Guild Aspirants, His Lordship Oketcho stated;
“In accordance to the rules and regulations 2006 Chapter 4 ‘Electoral Commission will from time to time inform in writing and publish the guidelines to steer the electoral process’. And the Guild constitution 2013-chapter 6 Article 75 2 ‘Electoral Commission shall be responsible for supervising all the Guild elections in the school.’
The Commission has suspended all movements by aspirants/campaign teams around campus and different students’ halls of residence with groups in a bid to solicit votes from the students’ body.
This, according to MUBS EC, has been done in order to create a levelled ground for the commission to plan and give directions for the process. The suspension took effect from Sunday 14th.03.2021-1pm to Wednesday 17th.03.2021-1pm.
Anyone found in breach of this directive is to be penalised.
