Namatovu Evelyn who emerged second runner up beating 80 others and won best swim suit at the 49th Miss International beauty pageant on Saturday morning returned home in honors.
She is the second woman to represent Uganda after ten years in the beauty pageant that took place in Tokyo, Japan.
The 22 year old Evelyn is a finalist at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) awaiting graduation in Bachelors of Entrepreneurship and Business Management. This is the third ranked beauty pageant following Miss World and two others.
While addressing the media, she said that she is going to use the chance that she has to empower young women entrepreneurs, equip them with more knowledge and skills, and she will go to an extent of looking for funds for them to start up new businesses.
She also said that she didn’t think she would go this far as she competed with girls that are even more beautiful than her but with determination and belief in herself, she was able to scoop what she has right now.
She was welcomed by friends and family at Entebbe International Airport.
