Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has set 1st March as the orientation date for their first year students ahead of reopening for on campus lectures. According to the Institution’s website, MUBS freshers will also undergo registration and enrollment starting on the mentioned day, after which on campus lectures will kick off.
It should be recalled that the Makerere University Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs) Umar Kakumba recently allowed all colleges to organize/schedule their own orientation programme as the university plans to resume on campus studies on 1st March.
However, MUBS will not hold their registration and enrollment between February 22nd and 27th, a period suggested by Kakumba.
“Each college registrar, in consultation with the principal, should produce a detailed plan to conduct freshers orientation registration sessions on campus during 22nd – 27th February 2021.” Kakumba said in a statement.
Collages will also handle verification of freshers academic documents and enrollment into the AIMS system. Freshers will also be given students’ email (@mak emails) to enable them sign up for the university’s e-learning platform,MUELE.
Among other activities, freshers will be tipped about basic academic regulations as well as familiarizing them with the university environment.
Makerere University Academic Registrar Mr. Alfred Masikye Namoah recently alerted freshers that they should report with laptop computers ahead of staggered learning that will require them switching to online learning come 28th March.
