In a bid to curb drug abuse at Makerere University Business School (MUBS), the university’s guild Initiative has launched a campaign dubbed ““Tuve Ku Njaga”. As part of the campaign, there will be an event scheduled to take place on 10th March at ADB Theater 2 and guest speakers as Dr. Jose Chameleon and Prof. Waswa Balunywa are expected to deliver their advice.
The campaign is expected to address other issues like respect of persons with disability and creating awareness about the dangers of HIV/AIDS.
The campaign has been launched following the increased use of drugs by campus students most of whom have suffered serious mental illnesses while others have succumbed to this addiction. Several MUBS students belong to gangs that come together for smoking fests which are held in hostels and other exclusive parties.
Guest speakers are expected to tip students on how to stay away from drugs and issue guidelines on how to overcome the addiction.
