The rumble came down on Saturday evening at the Kampala Serena Hotel and by Sunday morning, Uganda had itself a fine lady for a Miss Uganda. Makerere University Business School goddess Leah Kagasa, 21, currently in her third year reign pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing was on Saturday evening crowned Miss Uganda 2016/17 beating 20 other lovely contestants to the crown.
Coupled with a fine ebony look and confident suave, Leah Kagasa was according to the judges of the night the best lady to represent Uganda at the Miss World finals later this year. Her articulate execution of the questions that were posed by the judges made her the instant crowd’s favourite.
A confident Leah Kagasa who hails from the western region was also the major winner of the night seeing her take the Miss Popularity and Miss People’s Choice accolades under at the same night. She bagged a tune of shs5 million from the different accolades and a deal to be the face of Tycoon SK Mbuga’s multi-million company. She was also awarded the brand new Huawei P9.
To wrap up the top three, Charlotte Kyohairwe was named first-runner and Ritah Ricky Mutoni was named Second Runner Up.
