Things seem to be getting tougher for Universities as the Association of University Sports games are in its knock out stages. Yesterday’s soccer match between the host’s team Ndejje and Makerere University turned sour when the latter was thumped by the host three goals to one (3-1).
Goals from Ndejje’s Onek Francis and Mustafa Anwar sent the hosts screaming and advancing to finals today. Makerere University however exhibited talent for the 90 minutes but were let down by their goal keeper in the penalty shoot outs.
Makerere University Business School however beat their counterparts of Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) in a tight penalty shootout with Mubs scoring 2 goals to 1 respectively. Today, MUBS will face Ndejje in the soccer finals.

Ndejje so far leads with the highest number of Gold medals followed by KIU then Kampala University. However, Kyambogo University dominated Rugby followed by Uganda Martyrs university then Makerere.
In athletics, Ndejje University has so far scooped two gold medals with their runner Bahati Sadic and Mutai Ezra dominating 10,000m and 600m respectively.
The inter University games are expected to end today with teams who won in the semi finals yesterday advancing to compete in the finals today. Several awards are also expected to be given to participants in an award ceremony that is going to happen today by midday.
