Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has publicized decisions on students involved in examination malpractices and irregularities of semester one academic year 2023/2024.
This was through a memo shared by the School Registrar Eldred M. Kyomuhangi-Manyindo.
Accordingly, the Academic Board at its 86th meeting held on February 15, 2024, received and considered cases of students involved in examination malpractices during semester one academic year 2023/2024.
The cases included;
- Unauthorized material in form of mobile phones, summarized notes on pieces of paper and obtaining answers from the internet
- Not following the invigilator’s instructions
- Running out of the exam room with the answer booklet and identification documents
- Destroying the evidence
- Sitting examinations without authority or permission
- Forgery of examination permits or signature of an official
- False information on answer booklets and or examination list attendance
- Sitting examination set for other programmes
- Writing on question paper and Writing at the back of the answer booklet.
- Not returning to the examination room after being permitted to use the washrooms
After due deliberations, the Board resolved to penalize the students who were found guilty of contravening the examination rules and regulations in various ways.
Resultantly, some have been suspended whereas many more have been cautioned.
The school registrar has thus communicated, in detail, the Board’s resolution on students reported to have been involved in examination malpractices during semester one academic year 2023/2024 examinations, as summarized in the table below.
