Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has championed the move to ensure total elimination of plastics from the Nakawa based campus.
This was revealed by Prof. Waswa Balunywa, the University’s principal who acknowledged that plastics have become a big problem in society.
He thus said that they have set a target of 6 months to rid the university of plastic bottles and other material.
MUBS has joined Kampala International University (KIU) which in March 2021 partnered with End Plastic Pollution initiative to launch the plastic free campus campaign.
During the launch, metallic dustbins were donated to vendors and business owners in and around the university to mark the beginning of the war against plastic pollution.
