As we head for the polls starting Thursday 18th Feb all the way to 19th Feb, there will be an epic showdown at MUBS as Uganda takes to the polls to decide their leaders.
Makerere University Business School’s senior Lecturer Kawere Richard is set to face his former student Luyombya Godfrey in the polls together as they vie for the post of LC3 Nakawa Institutions. Luyombya, former Guild Prime Minister in the MUBS Guild and a leader of the MUBS Nkobazzambogo cultural group will be facing his former lecturer in the polls and is optimistic he will emerge winner.
“I have traversed all areas and even gone to homesteads in my pursuit for the vote, I believe I have the mandate of the people and I will beat the incumbent to this seat by hook or crook,” stressed the young aspirant in a mini chat with Campusbee.
Kawere Richard who has been the incumbent and the current LC3 councilor also doubles as a lecturer at the Nakawa based institution. Kawere lectures in the evenings as he carries most of his duties co-currently during the day.
On being contacted by Campusbee, the calm lecturer noted how busy he was looking for another term from his people he has diligently served and believes come the polling day, he will retain the seat.
“I have prepared enough, served my people enough and am sure they will be pleased to re-instate me to the post, may the winner take it all”, said the lecturer at one of his rallies.
Come 2nd March when councilors will be elected, MUBS will be watching as hearts will be at stake. #UgandaDecides.
