This year has been rather sad and dark for the university community in Uganda, especially Nakawa based Makerere University Business School (MUBS). From the student that died in the mosque to another that was run over by a truck, several more have been reported dead at MUBS.
Students from Akamwesi Hostel woke up today to the saddening news of the passing on of Gerald Agaba, a second year student that has been sleeping in the posh residence.
Initial reports first suggested that he was fine since his roommate said that he was okay the previous night as they had supper together.
However, communication with his family members suggested that he had had some complications and was even on medicine. Agaba, who was supposed to sit for his last end of semester examination today afternoon, was suffering brain complications.
A relative that preferred anonymity intimated to Campus Bee that they knew about the complications and the deceased was actually on medication.
“He had brain complications and would on several occasions faint. Recently, we put him on scan where he promptly received medicine for the suffering” she said.
It is from that background that they believe he met his death while in his sleep. There has not been any post mortem reports as yet to clearly know why the deceased passed on under those circumstances.
From the team at Campus Bee, we wish him peaceful rest.
