Makerere University Business School Students were yesterday evening rewarded at the Makerere University Transport and Logistics Association (MUTLA) Challenge finale.
The event was sponsored by African Mobilities Observatory (AMO), a think tank that is open to indivduals that have sustainable ideas which are intended to impact on the future of Africa’s mobility system.
AMO was represented by Jerry Rawlings Mbabali the Director and Joseph Semuju the think tank’s Community Manager. The AMO representatives encouraged the transport students to sign up onto their online Mobility platform and create or post different mobility articles so as to build a young network of mobility actors, thinkers and practitioners.
Seven teams made it to these finals and they were tasked to present their ideas to a panel of judges that included Mr.Richard Baguma from CISCOT and others. The Neo Changers team finished third and took home shs250, 000. The Timmers finished second and were rewarded with 500, 000 shillings by the Transport and Logistics lecturers in attendance. The winners of the day were The Tiky team who took home 1,000,000 shillings and a fully paid trip to Mombasa between 26th and 29th May 2018.
This was the second edition of the Challenge and it is meant to enhance students abilities to come up with ideas that can help solve Transport and Logistic problems among government agencies like KCCA, URA among several others.
The Students in turn could partner with such organisations through getting placements for the registered members of the association.
