Over 5,000 MUBS students were to graduate in January but didn’t because of Main campus’ closure. Their graduation is still being crippled by the School management that hasn’t remitted functional fees amounting to Shs4 billion for the past 3 years.
Important to note is that each East African student at MUBS is supposed to pay Shs 420,000 and 1,027,500 for international students. However, out of the Shs6 billion collected, MUBS only paid Shs1.4 billion.
Augustine Tamale the MUK Bursar wrote a letter to the MUBS principle Prof Waswa Balunywa on January 9, 2017, reminding him of the school’s failure to clear these dues in the past.
According to Tamale, MUBS students will not graduate if their school management doesn’t forward this money on the Makerere University Council Bank account in time before the late February graduation.
