Makerere University Business School has revealed that in 2024 it will be hosting an international conference of all French teachers in Africa, an event that will attract participants from over 100 countries across the globe.
This conference was last held in Dakar, Senegal in 2019 and aimed at showing different people from around the world the beauty that comes with the French language, scientific aspects of teaching French and the economic aspect of the French language.
The event which will run under the theme “social economic importance of French language for sustainability”
This was revealed by Dr. Milburga Atcero the Head of department of Leisure and Hospitality at MUBS at the closure of the ten day training of the French facilitators from the four government Universities
This conference took place within a period of ten days in which the lecturers of Makerere University, Kyambogo University, Kabale University and Makerere University Business School were being advised on how to design and formulate a programme that will help them to teach the French language in their different institutions.
This comes as an incentive since the East African Community adopted French as the third working language in the region since Democratic Republic of Congo is a big trading market for the region and also given that the nation is about to be ushered into the East African Community.
