AND MURUNGI EMMANUEL
The obvious response any concerned student could receive if he or she did inquire about this incoherent issue at the academic registrar’s office is,”We shall get back to you.”
But this is just a posey scam intended to buy the crocs suited in sheep’s wool time to tire up all lose ends and protect their heads. Recently Prof. Elisam Magara was indicted of presumable allocation of marks to his students without ever looking at the scripts.
Now to the Computing and Information Technology a faculty in Makerere University is where four unmarked scripts belonging to third year students where saved from the garbage cans were they now acted as paper bags to cloth chapattis and cassava brunches.
These unmarked trashed scripts belonged to students registered 10/U/14334/PSADOI, 10/U/21963/EVE, 13/U/5890/EVE, 11/U/7549/EVE taking on database and information management for a course unit, sat for in between the dates of 2nd January 2014 and 30th May 2014 for the academic year 2013/2014.
Using the university’s database we inputted these respective registration numbers, to check for specifics and verify whether these students had actually being allocated marks. And indeed yes they were. Two of the victims whose scripts weren’t marked had been unrighteous awarded retakes each of whom had 60% while the other two only passed by a whisker, 62% and 63% respectively.
When we spoke to one of the victim who prefers to keep anonymity, she testifies being bounced from office to office while she tried to inquiry about these outrageous marks until the day she let this whole issue rest. She too suspects her whole academic failure is attributed to her continuing refusal to one CIT lecturer’s sexual advances. She too allegedly claims to hold onto an audio that exposes the discrepancies happening in the faculty. But that will definitely be a story for another day.
More drama unfolded yesterday Monday when our news desk actually noticed that the campus administration had learnt of this whole ordeal and bury the victimised student’s records. The administration literally deleted these student’s academic records for the year 2013/2014 and may plan to doctor them in the near future.
We tried effortless to contact the academics registrar’s office but all in vain.
Lastly Campus Bee elucidates that the lecturer in question here is a female and her full profile details are yet to be revealed. Also we’re still investigating the circumstances under which valuable material on students answer scripts ends up in the hands of vendors on the streets of Kampala as paper bags. Keep it locked and be part of it.
