Makerere University has bowed to the forces of reason and extended the registration deadline to 27th Feb 2015, the Institution’s administration has announced. This follows the expiry of the earlier extension on Friday 20th Feb 2015 that left a large number of students
unregistered.
The news has been received with relief by a number of the affected students, with a 3rd Year female student at the College of Gender expressing her happiness at the decision: “Am glad Mr. Dumba’s administration has responded well to our concern. Majority of my friends and I had not yet registered but now we will finally be able to.” Asked why they had not yet registered although they had three weeks on their hands to register, she replied that they have not been coming to Campus because they did not want to waste money on transport when normal lectures had not commenced. One can only register via MUK’s intranet when they are inside the campus.
Another student when approached about the developement exuded satisfaction with it and added that he hopes the authorities can also solve the problem of lecturers’ absenteeism “before matters escalate out of
their hands.”
Well, all that Campusbee.ug urges the unregistered students to do is to rush and receive the olive branch extended to them by the University administration by registering.
