Mitchell hall students today woke up to demonstrate over no water in their hall. The students demonstrated in their underwear hanging towels around their necks. Info reaching our hive from Mitchel hall is that block E and F of the hall has not had water for the past two days and for that reason the residents could not take showers and also use the toilets because they were scared of the smell since there was no water to flush.
The students this morning decided to walk down to estates department which is in charge of pumping water to all areas within the campus. They walked around in their underwear and night gowns hanging towels around their necks- a sign to show that they wanted to shower but there was no water.
The students also kept shouting “twagala ku pama naye tewali mazi” literally meaning ‘we want to use the toilet but there is no water’.
The situation is still being rectified though the students are still unsettled and police is present at the scene just in case the students turn more rowdy.
