Admit it! We’ve all had those dreams we nurtured while in high school with our friends but never got to take it to the head or a notch higher. It takes a brave heart and a determined intellect to make a once mere joke of a dream into reality.
Were Paul, 21 years old, pursuing a degree in clinical medicine at MAK in his 2nd year is a master of his own moonwalk. This young intelligent business mogul is on the verge of becoming the next Shudir or Kirumira.
Paul is the General Manager and co-founder of Angels Hub that offers fully resourced commercial work space, like offices, shops, warehouses and lay-down yards something that is a rare venture in Uganda.
Paul once shared a joke with his friend while in high school and today, the idea has blossomed to be sitting on a multi-million dollar project. A reserved and hardworking chubby gentleman that has a lot to offer. Paul operates a company that provides work space for intending companies and already established companies at Ham Towers facing MUK.
Were Paul and his close friend George William Bakka, had a plan while at school to be the A-class guys and when they finished high school, they never wasted time they quickly embarked on the pursuit of their dream.
“I had the business idea way back in school with my good friend George William Bakka, after school, we started Angels Hub in a friend’s garage where all we did was look for sponsors.”, started a humble Paul. Four years down the road, we have greatly grown our business and that’s something we thank our determination for.
“We set up our premises at Ham Towers 3rd floor, we use the same place to provide fully furnished offices to start ups and flourishing businesses. Office space ranges between $100-$1500 per month. In actual sense, we are able to host a graduand and his/her business with the following services; dedicated WiFi, a reception, a customer waiting lounge, parking space, security and 24 hour refreshments,” Paul explains.
Asked about his earnings, Paul told Campusbee that; “If all the current offices are taken up, they generate a monthly revenue of 15m, after expenses like salary and rent, Paul makes off shs5m on a good day and about 2m on a bad day, that’s if all offices are taken up”, noted Paul. However, he barely anticipates enjoying that large sum earning as he has to reinvest.
With the money milked out of such a venture,Paul has been able to foot his own tuition and other needs and stresses that his family knows nothing about him and his business because he left home after high school.
Like any business having hurdles, Paul frowns about how he has had to cater for only his employees’ salaries when most offices are not taken up. And poor service providers that often frustrate his work. He also adds that he has had to chop lectures for a pretty long while because the business is too demanding.
He contemplates on whether to take up online lessons or keep haggling with MUK woes.
Paul attributes his success and inspiration into undertaking this venture to enable the youth start their businesses with the smallest they can get their hands onto.
As a buzzing business man, Paul drives his hobby into a money venture when he part-times as a deejay at Paaz events, an events organisation that he started alongside his passion.
“I myself, i believe entrepreneurship is the foundation of human progress in Africa, that’s why i will do my best to see to it that every starting entrepreneur is a successful one in the end,” Hinted a jovial and lively Paul
