Like Moses Golola says, Frank Gashumba seems to have ‘tempered a hot temper’. Makerere University students after being called “dogs with rabies” are up in arms trying to dig up Gashumba’s dirty linen.

The students landed on two articles of Gashumba’s fraudulent acts in the New Vision and Daily Monitor websites. In abid to shame the chatterbox, the students have resorted to sharing these articles allover social media to inform their peers “who Gashumba is- a corn man.”

An article published on Monday October 2011 in the Daily Monitor titled; “Gashumba arrested in another fraud case” reads; “Frank Gashumba, who was convicted of conspiracy to defraud dfcu bank in February, has again been arrested over another fraud case.

Gashumba was arrested with three others on Saturday on allegations of trying to defraud a Turkish company dealing in fire tenders of $28m (Shs79.9 billion) on pretext that they wanted to buy fire trucks on behalf of the Ugandan government.
Deputy police spokesperson Vicent Ssekate yesterday confirmed the arrests, saying Gashumba and his accomplices are being held on charges of obtaining money by impersonation, pretence, forgery, uttering false documents and theft.”

This article has since become one of the most read stories on the Monitor website, four years later.

Another article the students are circulating was written by the New Vision on April 26, 2008, titled; “Gashumba charged with fraud”

A brief excerpt reads; The guardian of Aisha Nabukeera who was allegedly burnt by her step-mother, was yesterday charged with obtaining sh800,000 by false pretence from Abdu Ssali, a city businessman.

Gashumba, a businessman, appeared before Buganda Road Court Magistrate Susan Kanyange and denied the charge. He was released on a cash bail of sh100,000.

Gashuma not moved

The Sisimuka boss is however determined to ‘school’ the Makerere students with his words of ‘wisdom’. He reiterated on his facebook timeline; “Vultures, idlers, jobless, sadists are on Social Media alarming my fans and friends, that I have been arrested. They are three things that you are assured of as a human being; paying taxes, prison and death but as I post now, I still have my Freedom and I am actually sipping a glass of Passion fruit juice, I have not been arrested and arresting me shouldn’t make news because as an activist, that’s something I know that can happen anytime and am not scared of it.”

This series doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. We be in the kamooli watching.
