Muni University, through the Communications department, has confirmed the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor.
Assoc. Prof. Anguma Simon Katrini, has been appointed as Vice Chancellor of Muni University, a position he has held in acting capacity since the unfortunate demise of the founding Vice Chancellor, late Prof. Christine Dranzoa on 28th June 2022 at Mulago National Referral Hospital.
In accordance with the powers vested in him by section 31 (2) of the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001 (as amended in 2006) and upon the recommendations of the Muni University Council, the Chancellor of Muni University, Bishop Henry Luke Orombi has appointed Associate Professor Anguma Simon Katrini as Vice Chancellor for a period of five (5) years, effective 1st September 2023.
Assoc. Prof. Anguma Simon Katrini joined Muni University as the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs in November 2015, a position he has served in till the new appointment.
Earlier, he served in various capacities at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) uninterrupted for a period of seventeen years.
“We congratulate Assoc. Prof. Anguma Simon Katrini upon this appointment and we look forward to a continuous stewardship of this great University,” a statement read.
