Muni university Lecturer, John Robert Padde has been crowned winner in the National Academic Forum for overseas medical students on May 01 in Nanjing university, China.
Padde emerged the best student during a presentation on the topic, “Tolerance to Heat Waves in Mosquito Larvae is Mediated Through Calcium ion Channel Signaling.”
Mr. Padde had an insightful discussion on the mechanisms of adaptability of mosquitoes as vectors of diseases in an ever rising global temperatures, and new ideas for mosquito control. A topic which earned him the first prize.

About John Roberts Padde.
In 2019, Padde enrolled at Nanjing University in China for a PhD programme in Pathogen Biology, specializing in Vector Control. From 2014-2017, he attained Master of Medicine (Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics) at Beihua University where he centered on Immunology and microbiology at a molecular.
In the years of 2008-2012, he completed his undergraduate degree of Biomedical Laboratory Sciences from Makerere University.
Teaching Career.
He is currently a Lecturer at Muni University- From 2020) and served as Asst. Lecturer at Kampala international University from 2017-2021.
