Muni University has today (11th April, 2022) completed the signing of a multi-billion contract to erect a new administration block.
The university ‘stamped the deal’ with Ms Khalsa Developments (U) Ltd, the project contractor with a financial agreement worth UGX 7 billion.
“Muni University today signed a 7bn UGX contract with Ms Khalsa Devts. (U) Ltd to construct Admin Block Annex. The University Secretary, Mr Banya. E.Natal who signed on behalf of Muni urged the contractor to do quality work. DVCs, Assoc Prof. Anguma. K.Simon & Prof. Odubuker. P. Epiphany emphasized the same,” an official Tweet read.
Muni University is one of the nine public universities in Uganda, located in West Nile, Arua District. Efforts to establish a public university in the West Nile sub-region date to January 2007 when a delegation of elders from the sub-region made a written request to the president of Uganda.
Initially, the university was named West Nile University, but after wider consultations, the name was changed to Muni University.
